Kingston Tour Guides was established in 1991 to provide Kingstonians and visitors with informative and fun walking tours of our historic town.
The Guides are all volunteers from the local community who have been trained and independently assessed. Only when qualified are they entitled to wear the official badge.
Although our personnel has changed over the years, our guides are still as enthusiastic today as they ever were in relating the stories of the buildings and the people who have contributed to the history of Kingston.
Since 2017, we have also performed an annual pageant in the town, from bringing to life the characters on the famous facade in the Market Place, an Historical Mystery Walk and a Christmas Pageant (seen here on the right). The Guides do like dressing up!
We provide regular weekend walks of Kingston but we can tailor our service to particular requirements, for example, private walks and illustrated talks. We regularly give talks to schools and colleges.
We can also provide private walks of Surbiton on request or we can deliver talks on the history of Surbiton to your school or group
