Heritage and Open Days Talks

In 2020, due to the prevailing Covid-19 restrictions, Kingston Tour Guides are not able to offer our usual walking tours of our historic town.
However, for the Heritage Open Days and the Open London Weekend, we will be offering open air talks at two of Kingston's historic sites and also a talk in Surbiton.  Numbers will be limited to allow for social distancing and the talks will last between 20 and 30 minutes.
The first talk, by the Coronation Stone,
will cover:
  • the history of Kingston
  • the Coronation Stone
  • the Ancient Market Place and
  • the Guildhall.

The Surbiton talk, meeting by the Coronation Clock Tower, will discuss:
  • the coming of the railway
  • the Coronation Clock Tower and
  • why Surbiton was "The Queen of the Suburbs.
The second talk, by the river behind
John Lewis, will discuss:
  • the Undercroft
  • the importance of the river in Kingston's history and
  • Kingston Bridge.
